About Amanda Lea Kaiser

The Best Brand

Early in my career at Crayola®, I remember watching a child reverently pick up a crayon and begin to create. New products, sometimes my products, would make people in the Crayola aisle squeal with delight. Hundreds of people told me their open-the-crayon-box-and-the-smell-transports-you-back-to-childhood stories. That story never gets old. I was lucky to work for a genuinely engaging brand, which sparked my career-long fascination with engagement.

Remarkable Professional Communities

Working for associations and societies, I morphed from a consumer marketer to a qualitative researcher. I got to dig deep into what engagement really means and how it feels. I talked to 477 professionals–rocket scientists, university presidents, journalists, engineers, and CEOs, to name a few, and heard many heartfelt stories about each decision to engage. I also talked to many business and community leaders, and how they talked about engagement differed from their members, attendees, sponsors, and customers. There was a gap.

The Gap

For years, I’ve geeked out conducting research, fielding experiments, and learning as much as I can from academic research about the decisions to engage. And engagement… well, it might not be what you think it is!

Real engagement isn’t about clicks, opens, purchases, registrations, or metrics we can measure. Real engagement is very human and very emotional. There’s often a gap between your audience and the people they want to engage. I can help them close that gap.

“Amanda is a great catalyst for making you evaluate how you do things and how you can implement positive, constructive changes without feeling like you have to move a mountain to get it done; all of her ideas are very doable. It’s not your standard presentation—she practices what she coaches in terms of engaging people.”

Elevating Engagement

I wrote a #1 Amazon best-selling book, and now I’m crisscrossing North America and Zooming all over the world (thank you, internet), closing that gap one program at a time.

Each presentation weaves brain science with my own substantial research, with stories, and with a ton of audience interaction. Each participant experiences engagement, reflects on their experience, learns about the research, and actively applies big ideas to their unique situation. They leave with ideas they can try immediately.

We don’t just talk about engagement together; we live it!

“Having attended many of Amanda’s sessions myself and experiencing how she seamlessly delivers quality content while engaging all participants AND juggling the technology, I knew I needed to bring her in to share her knowledge with our Grant Professionals Association’s volunteer chapter leaders!

Amanda is a true collaborator during the planning process, taking the time to learn about the audience. The result is not your average “online seminar” but rather a well-orchestrated experience where our attendees left energized and full of new ideas!”

Some of my board members can be skeptical about retreats, but they had such a good experience they are talking to each other about it. I’m delighted they were so engaged in the process, and we now have mapped out small tests to further engage members in DTLA.”
