It’s New Member Engagement Study Time!!!
What if a single research study could improve new member retention and increase engagement with every member segment? This unicorn study exists, and we are reopening it for data collection.
Six years ago, my incredible partners at Dynamic Benchmarking and I asked, “Do new member onboarding programs work?” and “What makes them successful?”
Some golden gems popped out of the study, like the 3-3-6 rule, and learned that 71% of association executives worry about many new members joining but failing to engage.
The last time we ran the study, we had enough respondents to determine what worked for associations of various sizes. Small association onboarding programs are much shorter than large ones and rely on a very personal approach, while large programs usually last 7 to 12 months and use a handful of tactics, primarily drip emails.
It is time to update the data set to see what is new with new member onboarding, and that’s where you come in.
Why take the survey?
By taking the survey, you’ll see the range of tactics and measurements associations use to welcome new members.
You automatically get access to compare your strategies and tactics to your peers. I.e., sort by size, type, or reach and see if there’s a tactic or two you might want to tiny test.
As soon as we crunch the numbers, we’ll release essential insights and you’ll be the first to find out.
I didn’t even mention that by taking the survey, you are contributing to a crucial piece of research in the association industry—a body of knowledge that improves how associations advance their missions.
We TOTALLY want to hear from you! Whether you have a new member onboarding plan written down or you do some onboarding things, please add your snapshot in time to the study.
