Chief Experience Officers Out in the Wild
I’m inviting you to become a CEO—a Chief Experience Officer. As you embark on this adventure, you might wonder if there are some examples out there in the real world to study.
I have observed some national brands who seem to highly encourage all of their staff to take on the role of CEO:
Trader Joe’s
Chick-fil-A
Jet Blue
Apple
Okay, but wow, they have incredible resources, so of course, they can encourage all of their staff to take on the role of CEO. Well, there are a few regional brands that do it too:
Buc-ee’s
nbkc (this is a bank, you all! A bank!)
Still, you might be thinking these organizations have vast resources. Waaaaayyyy more resources than we have.
So now think about all the little restaurants, shops, and mom & pop grocery stores where you had an absolutely fantastic experience. Chances are, each person there has also assumed the role of Chief Experience Officer.
Becoming a CEO is available to anyone and everyone.
When you are out in the wild, see if you can spot an organization staffed with CEOs. How do you feel when you interact with them?
Are they perfect? Nope. Sometimes a staff person will be hurried or have an off day, or maybe management made the wrong hire. But it’s okay because most of your experiences with the organization are positive.
There’s no time like today to commit to becoming a CEO. (And I’ve got just the book to help you do it!)
You go, CEO!
